Established in 1956, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) is an international financial institution that is headquartered in Washington, D.C. As the member of the World Bank Group and the largest global development institution, the International Finance Corporation provides financial and management service for more than 100 countries and exclusively focused on the private sector of developing countries. The service includes loans, equity, trade and supply chain finance, syndication, treasury client solutions, blended finance, venture capital, technical advisors, and asset management. The main goal of IFC is to create opportunities for people to escape poverty and achieve better living standards by mobilizing financial resources for private enterprise, promoting accessible and competitive markets, supporting businesses and other private-sector entities, and creating jobs and delivering necessary services to those who are poverty stricken or otherwise vulnerable. IFC is also a leading mobilizer of third-party resources for its projects.
