ILI Faculty produce authoritative casebook on Investor-State Arbitration

Oxford University Press has just published Investor-State Arbitration, written by ILI Chairman Professor Wallace and three colleagues Chris Dugan of Paul Hastings, Noah Rubins of Freshfields, and Borzu Sabahi an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. It is believed to be the most authoritative book yet published on the rapidly growing field and body of law of international investment arbitrations. The book examines the bilateral investment treaties (BITs) and FTA investment chapters as well as multilateral investment treaties, including the ICSID convention; the most frequently used arbitration rules, particularly the UNCITRAL, and ICSID rules; various arbitration institutions and their procedures; enforcement of awards, challenge and set aside; and most extensively the definitions of investor and investment and the emerging jurisprudence of umbrella clauses, fair and equitable treatment, and all other evolving standards of protection in investment treaties.
