2010 Summer Orientation Program

The International Law Institute (ILI) is hosting the 40th annual Orientation in the U.S. Legal System program this summer. The program is designed to expose foreign attorneys and LLM students to the American Legal System.  Participants are introduced to the U.S. legal methods and process, central U.S. judicial doctrines and the basic research skills needed in the study of the U.S. law and for communicating with the U.S. colleagues and clients. There are also many opportunities to meet lawyers from the private and public sectors and see the practice and administration of the U.S. law through observations at court.

The two components of the summer program are aimed at improving the participants’ legal skills and understanding of the U.S. judicial system. They prepare those who are unfamiliar with American legal practice to do business and interact with the U.S. attorneys, and study law in the United States.
